Presentation of Turkey

Imagine
For the mobility in Poland, the Turkish partner school prepared a video presentation of Turkey. This presentation contains details about the country’s location, famous cities, population, religion, touristic and historical destination, marvels of ancient world, as well as about drinks and desserts. There are a lot of photos which were added to evoke the texts of the presentation. The ideas were suggested by the entire team of pupils and teachers in the partner school from Gaziantep. The Presentation of Romania

Imagine
One of the our tasks for the mobility in Poland was the achievement of a presentation. The Romanian team created a Power Point presentation of the school, Sibiu City, and of the country. The photos used in the presentation reflected the added texts. We also added an audio material with songs in Transylvania. This presentation was showed to the Erasmus+ partners within a session planned by the host school during the mobility. All partners were delighted to see it. We post it on the project website, too. Superstitions in Turkey

Imagine
Turkish culture is full of superstitions that many learn from their mothers and grandmothers. The project team from Gaziantep described shortly for their partners some of the most popular ones. The Evil Eye, for instance, is based on the idea that when someone feels envy they cause bad luck. Broken glass mean that the evil was so big that it broke an actual object. Knocking on wood three times is another very popular superstition. In Turkey you should never button up your coat while facing someone. Pouring a glass of water revolves around the idea that the person’s journey will be smooth. Sharp objects like a knife or scissors with the blade facing them may cause a fight in the future. In Turkey it’s auspicious to begin everything on the right side. In Turkey when your ears ring it means that someone is talking about you. Besides, when palms itch it’s a message regarding money. During a wedding in Turkey it’s very common to see the bride step on the groom’s foot. (Muberra Durak, Deputy

A Few Romanian Superstitions

Imagine
Rebecca Frântu and Paula Tudora, pupils in ”Constantin Noica” Theoretical High School, Sibiu City, Romania collected a few Romanian superstitions and achieved a material with text and photos. This project outcome was supervised by Mrs. Gabriela Mirela Jugar, their Erasmus+ school coordinator. After writing it in Word document, they transformed it in PDF document by using the device ”Zamzar”. Before posting it on the project website, the two pupils confessed their emotions to share these superstitions with their partner pupils from Poland, Turkey, Spain, Lithuania and Cyprus. They are looking forward to read the superstitions of their partners and to compare them, to see if there are similarities and differences. Turkish Wedding Traditions

Imagine
Four pupils of the Erasmus+ project team prepared in a PDF document we posted here descriptions of wedding traditions in Turkey. Among them, we mention: the importance of marriage on human life and society, different kinds of marriage, the age of marriage, the agreement to marry, the engagement, the wedding, as well as the ceremony during the night before the wedding called Henna Night, the feching of the bride. For all information, these pupils have used references from the page of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The chosen photos illustrated these descriptions. Weddings in Romania

Imagine
Guided by their Erasmus+ ”Folklorica” project school coordinator, Mrs. Gabriela Mirela Jugar, Alina Rotariu and Cristina Feldorean, two pupils in ”Constantin Noica” High School, Sibiu, Romania, have made a research about weddings in Romania, the country where family is very important and where weddings are extremely important social events. They have written a text, added here in PDF format, with photos related to these events. In this material, the two pupils showed that the wedding traditions and customs differ from region to region and sometimes even from family to family, as while the true traditional weddings (which are usually organized in villages or smaller towns) are still organized according to old customs, urban Romanians sometimes tend to make the event as simple as possible, while keeping some simplified traditions. There are references to the days when usually a Romanian wedding takes place, to the periods of the year when there are no weddings, to the godparents’ big ro
